The illustration I created is a record of an experience from a therapeutic session conducted within the IFS (Internal Family Systems) framework. It serves as a visual interpretation of the process of inner dialogue and confrontation with one’s own emotional pain. This work reflects the realms of the subconscious, forming a symbolic representation of my inner world. The illustration portrays pain that had long remained hidden in the deep layers of the subconscious, seeking to reveal the moment of its emergence and acknowledgment within the therapeutic process.
"I climbed the stairs of my subconscious until I reached the source of my pain, which revealed itself as a red sphere. Its interior was elastic, pleasant, and soft. Suddenly, I noticed numerous holes that I tried to fill using putty. As I observed them, I couldn’t decide which one was more important. I felt tired, surrendered, and lay down inside the pleasant interior as if on a mattress. I looked at all the openings, which now resembled a starry sky. A cool sense of distance washed over me — I still didn’t understand what it meant to me.
Then I realized that suffering cannot be avoided… "
